Ukraine has approved an important plan — The Strategy for the Development of Electronic Communications until 2030. This may sound complicated, but simply put, the state has decided how the internet and mobile networks will develop in the coming years to be fast, stable, and available everywhere.
What’s Planned
-
Restore 100% of destroyed networks — both mobile and fixed internet — in all regions.
-
Bring gigabit internet (very fast) to 75% of households and 99% of schools, hospitals, and key facilities.
-
Provide high-quality mobile coverage for 98% of the population — even in remote villages and near the frontline. Speeds starting from 90 Mbps and higher.
-
Roll out 5G nationwide, develop the Internet of Things (IoT) and online education.
-
Align Ukrainian laws with European ones and make EU-wide roaming work for us (so you can use your mobile plan abroad just like at home).
Why This Matters
Today, communication and internet are like electricity and water — without them, businesses, hospitals, schools, and even the army can’t function. The enemy tries to cut Ukraine off from the internet, but we keep restoring our networks and making them even better. The plan until 2030 will help keep connections stable in any conditions.
What We’ll Get in the End
-
Fast and stable internet in every city and village.
-
Mobile coverage without “dead zones.”
-
New technologies that will help create the businesses of the future.
-
An additional 56 billion UAH for the country’s budget.
Simply put: wherever you are — in your apartment, on the highway, in a field, or even at the frontline — the internet and mobile connection will work fast and without interruptions.
