Antenna Pigtail Cable SMA Male – Straight, RG405 (0.086”), Semi-Rigid, 30 cm, 50 Ohm is a high-quality RF cable designed for reliable and stable connections in systems where signal integrity across a wide frequency range is critical. Built on semi-rigid RG405 coaxial cable, this pigtail is ideal for demanding RF applications such as antenna connections, SDR modules, laboratory measurements, telemetry systems, and high-frequency communication equipment used in military and aerospace environments.
Construction and Materials
The cable features a semi-rigid RG405 (0.086”) coaxial core with an outer diameter of 2.18 mm. Its copper outer conductor is coated with FEP (fluoropolymer), providing mechanical rigidity, protection from bending, and shape retention with a single precise bend. The dielectric is made of PTFE (Teflon), ensuring stable electrical characteristics across a wide temperature range.
The center conductor is made of gold-plated copper, delivering excellent conductivity, corrosion resistance, and low insertion loss. This ensures minimal signal degradation, even at microwave frequencies.
Both ends of the cable are terminated with straight SMA Male connectors, crafted from brass with gold-plated center pins and PTFE insulation. Precision assembly ensures minimal return loss and a consistent 50 Ohm impedance.
Frequency and Electrical Performance
This pigtail operates reliably across frequencies up to 27 GHz.
Return loss (SWR) remains under 1.2 up to 6 GHz and below 1.35 up to 18 GHz, making it suitable for everything from LTE and Wi-Fi to specialized millimeter-wave communications.
Attenuation over 30 cm is typically 0.4–0.5 dB at 6 GHz, allowing for near-lossless signal transfer.
Maximum input power handling:
-
Up to 100 W at 2.4 GHz
-
Up to 25 W at 18 GHz
Operating temperature range is from -55 °C to +200 °C, making it suitable for harsh environments and high thermal load scenarios.
Applications
This pigtail is ideal for:
-
Connecting 4G/5G, Wi-Fi, ADS-B, LORA, GNSS antennas
-
SDR receivers and RF signal generators
-
Vector network analyzer (VNA) lab setups
-
Drone telemetry and military communication systems
-
